New Zealand secured the Bledisloe Cup for the 23rd consecutive year, defeating Australia at Eden Park. The victory ended a run of three losses for the All Blacks, who had lost the series 3-1 earlier this summer.

The Australian side fought hard until half-time, but the deficit was 17-14 in favour of the hosts. After the break, New Zealand took control and scored five tries, breaking the resistance of the visitors.

Tries for the All Blacks were scored by Peter Lakai, Tupou Vaa'i, Cam Roigard, Codie Taylor, Leroy Carter, Josh Moorby and Will Jordan. Damian McKenzie added 15 points with his kicks.

New Zealand extended their unbeaten run in Auckland to 54 tests, with Eden Park remaining unbeaten since 1994. Australia, seeking their first victory since 1986, were left without one.

The Wallabies suffered defeat in the first meeting under new head coach Les Kiss, who succeeded Joe Schmidt in July. This also ended their streak of six matches without defeat.

Tries for the guests were scored by Tom Wright and Harry Wilson, with Josh Nasser adding a try in the final moments of the match.

The Bledisloe Cup is contested annually between the two nations. The second leg of the tie takes place in Sydney at Accor Stadium on 17 October.

The match was officiated by Andrew Brace from Ireland, with Luke Pearce from England and Damian Schneider from Argentina assisting, while Mike Adamson from Scotland served as the TMO.
