Two people lost their lives and five were injured in a shooting that took place on Sunday evening at the annual Bite of Seattle festival. The incident occurred around 18:00 local time at Seattle Center, a venue in the city of Seattle in the state of Washington, where hundreds of thousands of visitors traditionally gather.
According to available information, two people died at the scene. Police confirmed that the incident involved multiple victims and that they are actively investigating the circumstances of the shooting. Among the five injured is a two-year-old child, who was hospitalised in stable condition. A 56-year-old woman sustained severe injuries and was taken to hospital. Her condition is described as serious, indicating the severity of the injuries sustained.
Three other injured people were taken to hospital in stable condition. These are a 39-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man. The fourth injured person, a 40-year-old woman, sustained minor injuries and declined hospital transport, although she was present at the scene of the incident.
