Beli Manastir will for the first time award successful students and their mentors. A decision on the new Regulation on the Awarding of Students and Mentors of Primary and Secondary Schools was adopted at a session of the Beli Manastir City Council, thereby introducing a form of incentive that did not previously exist.

The regulation establishes three categories of awards. These relate to special achievements and results obtained in national competitions, meetings and gatherings under the programmes of the Agency for Education and Training, as well as to excellent results during primary and secondary education.

A Decision on the Granting of City Honours was also adopted at the same session. City councillors unanimously accepted the proposal of the Committee for the Granting of Public Honours. Goran Jurić, Branko Krušić, the Foto kino-klub Baranja-film and Želimir Zagrajski, who will be awarded posthumously, will receive the Charter of the City of Beli Manastir at a solemn session of the City Council on 11 November on the occasion of the City Day.

Councillors also discussed the state of security in the area of Beli Manastir over the last three months. The agenda also included consent for the credit borrowing of Baranjski vodovod (Baranja Waterworks), and the borrowing proposal was accepted.

Baranjski vodovod will realise a loan of €500,000 with HPB (Hrvatska Poštanska Banka) for the stabilisation of its business. The repayment period is five years, and the monthly annuities amount to €10,000. The Mayor of Beli Manastir, Igor Pavelić, emphasised that the City is not a guarantor for the realisation of the loan, reminding that the City is a 50 per cent owner of Baranjski vodovod.
