Employees of Međimurske vode will be entitled to a €100 monthly food allowance for the next four years, according to a new collective agreement published in the electronic register of collective agreements of the Ministry of Labour, Pension System, Family and Social Policy. The agreement applies until 30 September 2030, replacing the 2022 contract.
The agreement was signed on 1 October by Hrvoje Krsnik, chief trustee of the Međimurske vode branch of the Croatian Trade Union of Municipal, Transport and Related Services, and Sunčana Glavina, on behalf of the company’s management.
The basic hourly rate is €6.30, multiplied by the complexity coefficient of the job position, and applies from 1 September. Pay increases by 0.5 per cent for each year of total service and by a further 0.5 per cent for each year of service with the company. Overtime is paid at a 30 per cent premium, night work at 32 per cent, Sunday work at 50 per cent, and work on public holidays at 150 per cent. Special allowances are provided for field work in extreme cold or heat, as well as for the maintenance of drainage systems and purification plants.
Employees are entitled to up to €700 annually for a holiday allowance and Christmas bonus, plus €140 in gifts for each child under the age of 15. They also receive an in-kind bonus of €133, with a possible performance bonus of up to €1,200 per year. The employer pays supplementary health insurance for permanent employees who wish to take it out and contributes €20 monthly to the third pillar of the pension system. Anniversary bonuses range from €300 for ten years of service with the company to €720 for 40 years, and employees receive a €1,500 support payment for the birth of a child.
For the first three days of sick leave, an employee receives 70 per cent of their salary, rising to 85 per cent up to the 42nd day. The full amount is paid for work-related injuries. Annual leave lasts a minimum of 20 and a maximum of 32 days, increasing with length of service and for each child under the age of 12, as well as one day for personal needs, such as a birthday. Blood donors are entitled to two days off.
The agreement details work-related injuries in depth. A serious injury includes, among other things, giving a password to another person, installing unauthorised software, and failing to report a suspected cyber attack.
