Hollywood actor Goran Višnjić, who ranks among the most successful Croatian actors on the international stage, has returned permanently to his homeland with his family. This move marks the end of a long period of living abroad that has characterised his personal and professional career.
The Višnjić family spent a total of more than 30 years of their lives outside Croatia. For the majority of that time, precisely 25 years, they lived in the US state of California, where the actor built his international reputation. Before that, the family lived for six years in Cornwall, England, further enriching their experience of living in foreign cultures.
The family’s new home is in Istria, the region they have chosen as their permanent place of residence. The public was informed of the decision to return by Eva Višnjić, the actor’s wife, who announced the news via social media. Eva, who grew up in Los Angeles, described Istria as a true little paradise, highlighting its natural beauty and pleasant atmosphere.
The main reason for returning to Croatia is not linked to professional obligations, but is of a family nature. The family wished to provide a calmer, safer and more natural environment for their children to grow up in. This step represents a significant life turning point for the actor, who has been connected to the American film industry for decades.
