Belgian sports journalist Ruben Van Gucht and his long-term partner, author Charlotte Van Looy, have become parents to a girl. The newborn baby, named Florence Van Gucht-Van Looy, was born on 11 August. The couple shared the news of the baby's arrival with the wider public via social media, where they posted official announcements alongside the first images from the maternity ward.

Alongside the text announcement, the parents published an emotional photograph capturing an intimate moment with their newborn daughter. The image shows Charlotte Van Looy lying in a hospital bed, gently holding the baby, while Ruben Van Gucht is present in the frame, kissing the girl's hand. These photographs marked the beginning of a new chapter in their lives, offering the public a glimpse into the first moments after the birth.

Alongside the images, the parents dedicated a special, poetic message to Florence. In the post, they wrote: "Between the tenderness of a doe and the strength of a wolf, our little lioness was born." They further highlighted a philosophical stance on parenthood, writing: "Life is most beautiful when only one thing matters." The message concludes with a traditional welcome: "Welcome, our dear."

Florence is Ruben Van Gucht's second child. From his marriage to former Croatian athlete Blanka Vlašić, Van Gucht has a son, Monda, who was born in 2022. On the other hand, Florence represents Charlotte Van Looy's first child, meaning the Van Gucht-Van Looy family has now expanded to three members.

Charlotte Van Looy's pregnancy had been publicly known since the end of February. At that time, the author posted an ultrasound photograph on social media, confirming the pregnancy. She simultaneously revealed the sex of the child, announcing that the couple was expecting a girl, which has now become reality with the arrival of Florence.
