The town of Našici is becoming the hub of a cultural event this season. The town is hosting the European Grape Harvest and Wine Knighthood Ceremony. This event takes place this weekend. It is an event being held for the first time in the wider area. It encompasses the towns of Našici and Feričanci as well as surrounding settlements. This extends the tradition into new geographical boundaries. Local communities get the opportunity for promotion. At the same time, local products are promoted to a wider audience.
The official opening is scheduled for 18 August 2026. The organiser is the European Wine Knighthood Consulate of Croatia (Europski Vinski Viteški Red Konzulata Hrvatska). This institution stands behind the concept of combining wine culture with knightly traditions. The tradition of chivalry is part of the identity of this event. The aim is to preserve historical elements in a modern context. The combination of history and the modern wine scene enables a unique experience.
The event attracts a significant number of participants from across Europe. According to the organisers, the event brings together more than 100 knights. Their presence enriches the cultural programme. It promotes the exchange of experience. The focus is on viticulture and winemaking. Participants exchange knowledge about grape cultivation. They also share experiences in wine production. This is an opportunity to strengthen regional cooperation. Wine knighthoods connect different cultures through a shared passion for wine.
