The eleventh edition of the Diplomatic Harvest took place in the vineyard of the Rezek family, with this year's edition hosted by the family itself. The grape harvest was held for the heads of diplomatic missions and international organisations accredited in the Republic of Croatia, with the City of Jastrebarsko as the organiser.
Among the guests were the President of the Republic, Zoran Milanović, and some 40 members of the diplomatic corps. President Milanović, in his capacity as host, took part in the Diplomatic Harvest on the Plešnica hill. The mayor of Jastrebarsko, Zvonimir Novak, acted as host, and the diplomats accredited in the Republic of Croatia were welcomed by Mayor Novak and the winegrower and host, Krešimir Rezek.
Krešimir Rezek extended a welcome on behalf of his wife, Valentine, and their sons, Mihael and Petar. The Rezek family is one of the oldest viticultural families in the region, with a tradition dating back to the 18th century. The family are also pioneers of tourism in the area, combining a rich family heritage with a modern approach to the production of wine and sparkling wine.
The musical accompaniment for the harvest was provided by the Jasko musicians Lucija Borković, on soprano, Andrija Borković, on trumpet, and Linda Mrvunac Fabian, on piano. The Diplomatic Harvest is a traditional event and an opportunity to promote the Plešnica region, Croatian culture, and the traditions associated with the grape harvest.
