The centuries-old White Sunday event once again filled Kast with visitors, the scents of local specialities, new wine, music, and tradition. White Sunday is traditionally held on the first Sunday in October and is linked to the beginning of autumn and new wine, having grown over the past six centuries into one of the most well-known symbols of the Kast area.

The event, held under the high patronage of the president, was organised by the Municipality of Kast, the Kast Tourist Board, and the municipality of Klana. Over three days, the event offered visitors a fair, exhibitions, demonstrations of traditional crafts, cultural programmes, music, and a rich culinary selection. This year, 26 exhibitors from the Kvarner Wines association participated, while three amusement parks were prepared for families and the youngest visitors.

The president of the Republic, Zoran Milanović, attended the White Sunday event and, following the ceremonial programme, visited the fair. He took part in the 'Greeting to White Sunday' programme, strolled through the fair, and visited the exhibition at the St. Trinity Gallery.

The mayor of Kast, Matej Mostar, highlighted that white Sunday provides residents with the opportunity to showcase the best of their region and preserve valuable local heritage. In particular, the 160th anniversary of the establishment of the first reading room in Istria and the Primorje was highlighted, as Kast celebrates the 150th anniversary of the birth of Vladimir Nazor. Nazor spent ten years of his life in Kast, where from 1908 to 1918 he worked as a teacher and director of the Men's School. At the St. Trinity Gallery, an exhibition titled 'Vladimir Nazor in Kast' by Ervin Dubrović was presented.

The Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, previously the mayor of Kast, highlighted the importance of the city's ability to simultaneously cultivate heritage and develop content necessary for modern life. As examples of development, he highlighted investments in kindergartens and schools.

At the Kast Museum, a permanent exhibition was presented, while in the Speleological Association's gallery, a photographic exhibition by Dario Maršanić, 'From Darkness to Light', was presented. The White House was also open to visitors. The musical part of the programme was provided by the brass bands of Roč, Spinčić, and Kast, the Učka folk ensemble from Matulji, the sopila players from Krk, the Mići čačevići, and the Kast harmonica players.
