In the heart of the ancient Poljica Principality, millions of Christmas lights will shine again on the last Saturday of November. The new season of the Christmas Village opens on Saturday 28 November with a ceremonial lighting of the lamps, and organisers expect the arrival of the 500,000th visitor, which they highlight as confirmation of years of dedicated work, creativity and love for their own region.

Bruno Rački, KUD Salona, the Majorettes of Biograd and other performers will take part in the opening programme. This year's opening also features the presentation of the international art project ONE HORSE – MANY VISIONS, whose main protagonist is Paško, the first horse to arrive at the Christmas Village.

40 artists from Croatia and other countries participated in the project, who were given four photographs of Paško as a common starting point for their own interpretations. The project is developing in connection with the Gornje Poljica Homeland House, and the event partners are the Croatian Tourist Board, the Split-Dalmatia County and the Split-Dalmatia County Tourist Board.

The project is featured through European Best Destinations, and its international visibility is further confirmed by the Central & Eastern Europe Prestige Awards 2026/27 recognition. The Christmas Village is also a winner of the Simply the Best award in the events category.

Tihomir Lučić, owner of the Christmas Village, received an award from the Split-Dalmatia County for his contribution to tourism, as well as the "Man – Key to Success" award at the Croatian Tourism Days. The expected 500,000th visitor, organisers say, is confirmation of years of dedicated work, creativity and love for their own region.
