Scotland were beaten 10-30 by Australia, marking their third consecutive defeat in the WX series. They had previously lost to Canada and New Zealand.
The hosts took the lead in the 15th minute when Evie Gallagher scored a try. Helen Nelson then increased the lead with a penalty, taking Scotland to the break with a 10-5 lead.
In the second half, Australia overturned the match with a series of three tries in just eight minutes. Desiree Miller scored a try in the corner after being set up by Georgina Friedrichs. Samantha Wood then scored a try and converted it herself, while Brianna Hoy added another try. Later, Faitala Moleko scored Australia's fourth try.
Gallagher was sent off for ten minutes for an infringement at the start. Wood increased Australia's lead to more than two tries with a penalty, and then added another penalty towards the end of the match.
Scotland were led by Gallagher's try, while Nelson added a conversion and a penalty. For Australia, Miller, Wood, Hoy, and Moleko scored tries, with Wood adding two conversions and two penalties.
The two teams will meet again next weekend in Sydney.
