The transfer window in Croatian football is entering its final stages with a deadline of 7 September, and domestic players continue to feature on the international stage. Josip Šutalo, the 26-year-old international, has three offers to leave Ajax. One of the interested clubs is Benfica, and there is also a club from the Premier League in the mix. Ajax is willing to let Šutalo go for around €15 million plus bonuses, which is significantly less than the €20.5 million the defender was paid when he joined from Dinamo in 2023.
In the case of Fran Ivanović, the situation has been resolved with his departure from Benfica. Lazio have been trying to sign the forward for weeks, but the key reason for the rejection of the offer was Ivanović's desire to play in European competitions next season. After Benfica reached an agreement with both Lazio and French side Lens, Ivanović chose Lens. The transfer was completed as a loan with an option to buy. Ivanović arrived at Benfica last year from Union Saint-Gilloise for €23 million, and previously in Belgium he scored 21 goals in 47 matches.
Hajduk are preparing for the new season with changes to the squad. Coach Gonzalo Garcia has hinted that 19-year-old defender Marino Skelin will go out on loan. Skelin did not travel to Lithuania with the squad, and after playing three matches in the Europa League this season, he has made a total of 12 appearances for Hajduk. Garcia commented on the player's status, having made his debut for the first team in 2024 in the Cup, with the league debut made in April 2025 against Varaždin.
In the domestic league, new arrivals are being recorded. Noah Nskoi was officially unveiled at Maksimir as a new signing for Dinamo. Luka Kapulica has signed for Karlovac, where he played on loan last season. Experienced former Hajduk player Mario Tičinić has become a new member of the third-tier side Uskoka. 21-year-old offensive midfielder Ayman Aourir, born in Cologne, has arrived at Vukovar 1991 from Rot-Weiß Oberhausen, where he received his football training in the Leverkusen academy.
Other significant transfers include the departure of Juraj Badel from Romanian side Universitatea Craiova to Cypriot side Aris Limassol. Badel, who brought the double to Craiova, played 26 matches last season. The Romanian club will earn around €600,000, which is three times the €200,000 investment in 2023. At Rijeka, 22-year-old Yusuf Kabadayı has arrived from Augsburg, while Lindon Selahi has been placed on the transfer list by Polish side Widzew Łódź. Noa Skoko will be on loan at Rudar, while Alen Halilović has been offered to Brazilian side Internacional after leaving Fortuna Sittard.
