The principal was injured while trying to subdue the attacker, with a teacher assisting in the effort. Both the principal and the teacher were injured but are out of danger. The school principal heard the commotion and rushed to help. The 15-year-old was arrested, and the motives for the attack are not yet known.
The incident near Wyszków occurred a day after an attack at Secondary Vocational School No. 4 in Ostrołęka, where a 19-year-old attacked several people. In that attack, nine people were injured: five students, two teachers, and two other people present. None of the injured were in life-threatening condition, and the perpetrator, Jakub Z., was arrested immediately.
Polish police reported that they had prevented a potential attack at a school in Sierpc. A 17-year-old was arrested after telling peers he would 'do something bad' at school. Students reported the young man's concerning statements to a teacher, who then reported the matter to the police. The young man had stated that on Wednesday, 7 October, he planned to do something bad at school.
Police entered the teenager's flat in the early hours of Wednesday and arrested him. During a search, they found a bag containing two knives and seized his mobile phone. An examination of the phone revealed that he had been searching for information related to the planned attack. The 17-year-old was held in police custody in Sierpc, and police are continuing their investigation, questioning witnesses. The case in Sierpk, based on information available so far, is not linked to the two attacks on schools in Poland.
