Police officers from the Krapina-Zagorje Police Directorate identified 37 traffic offences during a two-hour intensified traffic control. The operation was carried out on 22 October 2026, from 15:00 to 17:00, and targeted the so-called "four killers on the road".
Among the offences identified, the majority related to speeding. Police officers recorded 22 speeding offences, with the highest speed measured in a settlement at 112 km/h.
In addition to speeding, police recorded five offences for failure to use a seatbelt and four offences for improper use of a mobile phone while driving. Two offences for failing to comply with a traffic sign were also established.
One offence each was recorded for vehicle technical unfitness due to a major defect, failure to stop at a red light at a level crossing, driving with an expired driving licence, and driving an unregistered vehicle. The controls also covered motorcycle, moped and personal mobility device riders.
Police have announced that intensified road traffic controls will continue to protect all road users, increase road safety and prevent traffic accidents. Drivers are urged to comply with traffic regulations, adjust their speed to road conditions and contribute to the safety of all road users through responsible behaviour.
