Georgian pianist David Khrikuli gave his first solo performance in Croatia in Dubrovnik. The recital took place at the Rector's Palace, and attendees had the opportunity to hear performances of demanding classical works that required a high level of technique and expressiveness.
The musical programme was divided into two parts, each lasting approximately one school hour. In the first part, the audience heard performances of polonaises, as well as a complete cycle of preludes. These works, known for their complexity, required exceptional virtuosity, and the performer succeeded in conveying their depth and emotional weight.
The second part of the programme was dedicated to the performance of two nocturnes: No. 1 in C minor, Op. 48, and No. 2 in F-sharp minor, Op. 48. These works, known for their lyricism, provided a contrast to the preceding, more intense part of the recital. Finally, the performance of Sonata No. 3 in B minor, Op. 58, closed the main programme, leaving an impression of the performer's maturity.
Following the main part, Khrikuli performed two encores: a waltz and a polonaise. Although shorter, these pieces contributed to the overall experience, allowing the audience to enjoy the diversity of musical expression. The recital was an opportunity to engage with rich musical expression, and attendees had the chance to hear works requiring a high level of technique and expressiveness.
Staff and students of the Luka Sorkočević Art School were provided with tickets for this event, enabling them to participate in the cultural occasion.
