A concert-film spectacle by pianist Zvjezdan Ružić will be held at the Istrian National Theatre in Pula on Friday, 30 October. The gala premiere will see Ružić present his new album to the audience, accompanied on stage by an orchestra of top-tier academic musicians.
Ružić will share the story of his own storm, as the title of his album "A Storm in a Teacup" suggests. The album was recorded in three cathedrals, in Vienna and at Westpoint Studios in London, with Doke Kaitner serving as producer. Mastering was handled by Robert Vosgien from Capitol Studios.
The INK stage will come alive with large orchestral percussion, church organs, mellotrons, harmonica and concert piano, bringing the rich sound of the new material to life for the audience. Ružić premiered the album "A Storm in a Teacup" last year at the Grand Summer Stage in Opatija, and during the tour he also presented the intimate "Piano Reflections" and the playful "Playlist of My Childhood" to the public.
Zvjezdan Ružić is a five-time winner of the Porin award and a six-time winner of the Status award for best pianist in Croatia. He is an exclusive Yamaha Piano Artist and has performed around the world – from the Tokyo Budokan Arena and Cadillac Shanghai Concert Hall to Los Angeles and Europe. He has collaborated with 2Cellos, Josipa Lisac and the Harlem Gospel Choir.
