Police have completed the criminal investigation into a 45-year-old Croatian national who is suspected of unauthorised production and trafficking of drugs. The investigation was conducted by officers from the Criminal Police Department, Drug Crime Division, and culminated in the arrest of the suspect, who was handed over to the detention supervisor.
The search was carried out over the past few days in an apartment and other premises in the Zadar area, based on a warrant from the competent court. During the operation, police officers found and seized significant quantities of various psychoactive substances, including 58 grams of cocaine and 462 grams of marijuana.
Among the seized assets were 146 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, three MDMA (ecstasy) tablets and seven sugar cubes soaked in a liquid characteristic of the drug LSD. Alongside the drugs, three digital scales intended for precise measurement of substances were found, further indicating the commercial purpose of the seized substances.
Of particular note was the discovery of illegal firearms. Police confiscated one pistol with two accompanying magazines and 125 rounds of pistol ammunition. According to investigators' estimates, the suspect was in unlawful possession of the aforementioned weapons and ammunition.
Following the official completion of the criminal investigation, the 45-year-old was handed over to the detention supervisor. A criminal complaint will be filed against him with the competent state attorney's office on suspicion of committing the criminal offence of unauthorised production and trafficking of drugs, as well as unlawful possession of weapons.
