Marko Capan, the midfielder for Lithuanian side Žalgiris, stated that he is very happy about the upcoming match against Hajduk, although he did not expect such a situation to arise soon. The former player, who moved to Lithuania in January, admitted that six months ago he could not have imagined a match against his former side. He described the previous encounter as difficult and special, noting that before that match they did not expect the outcome and that one must fight to the end.

Capan played 11 official matches for Hajduk and recorded two assists, having previously been the captain of Hajduk’s juniors who reached the final of the junior Champions League. Although he admitted that it was not easy at first upon arriving in Lithuania and that he was not at his best when he first arrived, he currently feels good and states that he is feeling better every day. He believes that everyone needs time to adjust, and as the main goal, he highlights the growth of the team. In this match, according to him, he will give his all to ensure Žalgiris achieves a victory.

The match between Hajduk and Žalgiris takes place on Thursday at 19:00 and represents the first match of the third qualifying round for the Conference League. Capan highlighted that Hajduk is the biggest club in Croatia with the support of its fans. Although he noted that Hajduk did not start the season well and is currently feeling the pressure, he praised the young team and the good coach who genuinely wants to play football. He believes that Hajduk has great results, perhaps not in the last few years, but that the players are professionals who have emotionally recovered from the previous encounter. Capan believes that Hajduk will give their all on the pitch.
