The Croatian junior rowing team has arrived in the Bulgarian city of Plovdiv, where they will take part in the world championships for the 19-and-under age group. The competition is scheduled for 6–9 August, with the Croatian rowers preparing for the challenges that lie ahead on the water.
Roko Mikić, a member of the Metković-based rowing club Nerptvinski Gusar, is included in the squad. Mikić will compete in the quadruple sculls (JM4x), representing his country at the highest level within his age category.
Competing alongside Roko Mikić in the quadruple sculls are Karlo Svirčić, Šime Ravnjak, and Petar Hrkac. This quartet has been formed with the aim of achieving the best possible results at the upcoming championships, with all team members undergoing intensive training.
The preparations for the Croatian quadruple have been overseen by coach Zlatko Katušin Minje. The coach has worked with the team on tactics and conditioning to ensure the crew is as ready as possible for the races ahead in Bulgaria.
A total of 18 crews have entered the quadruple sculls event at the world championships. The Croatian team will find themselves competing against other world powers in rowing, with the aim of achieving a strong placement in this highly competitive category.
