Representatives of rowing clubs from Karlovac returned with six medals from the Croatian Rowing Championships for cadets and juniors, held over the weekend on the Sava River (Jarun). Of the six medals in total, three were gold, two silver, and one bronze.
Two medals were won by the rowers of VK Karlovac, while one gold medal went to a rower from VK Koran. The brightest medal for the local club was secured by Šime Ravnjak, who won gold in the single sculls for junior A in a field of 13 rowers. Ravnjak was the fastest in the final and thus claimed the title of Croatian champion.
In the women's category, Loriana Završki stood out, winning gold in the single sculls for female cadets. She triumphed with a convincing six-second lead over the runner-up in a field of 14 female rowers. Ema Hodak finished fourth in the single sculls for female juniors, where 13 rowers competed.
Gold was also secured by the quad scull of four male cadets from VK Karlovac, consisting of Šimun Hajsan, Matej Mašić, David Karalić, and Jakov Jarnjević, who were the best in a field of 16 boats. Silver medals were won by two women's pairs from VK Karlovac. The cadet B pair Marta Vlašić and Doris Karlić took second place in a field of eight boats, while the junior A pair Maja Plavetić and Vita Živčić finished second in their A final.
Maja Plavetić also won bronze in the lightweight women's double sculls in a field of 10 rowers. The junior B pair (Jan Černe and Jakov David Vuković) finished in fourth place, while the junior A pair (Leon Opačić and David Mašić) placed fifth. The quad of the B cadets (Erik Dragojević, Duje Ravnjak, Adrian Jurišić, and Martin Hlačić, with coxswain Mia Bačelić) took sixth place.
VK Sabljaci from Ogulin did not win a medal, but had three entries in the A finals. Darija Magdić finished fourth in the female cadet B single scull in a field of 11 rowers. The male cadet B quad (Badanjak Lovro, Luketić Mihael, Bertović Joso, Jandrijević Sara, and coxswain Božičević Patrik) finished fifth, while the female cadet B quad (Vuković Marta, Bertović Anja, Vuković Ana, Jandrijević Sara, and coxswain Stipetić Nika) placed sixth.
