Dinamo II defeated Segesta 3-1 in the eighth round of the First League, the second tier of Croatian football. Dinamo II now have 12 points, with four wins and four losses, while Segesta remain one point behind.

The guests took the lead in the 11th minute when Leonardo Perković fired into the net following a move and assist from Sven Šunta on the half. Šunta then scored for 2-0, passing through the home side's defence and hitting the crossbar. Segesta reduced the deficit in the next attack with a shot by Noa Godec from the top of the box.

Dinamo's victory was confirmed in added time by Fuzy Taylor, who hit the crossbar from over 25 metres. This was the third defeat for Segesta this season in the championship.

The club renewed the project for the second team after a four-year break. The project was relaunched in July 2026 so that players moving out of the junior age group could gain experience in competition against senior teams. The team is led by former Croatian international Jerko Leko, who was coach of Dinamo's juniors last season.

The aim of Dinamo II is not to fight for the championship, but to develop young footballers and prepare them for senior football. There are many young players from Dinamo's academy in the squad, including Noa Mikić, Borna Orlić, Lovre Kulušić, Mihael Ćutuk, Josip Brundić, Gabrijel Šivalec and Sven Šunta. Some players train occasionally with the first team, which the club seeks to facilitate the transition to the highest level.

Dinamo II are not eligible for promotion to the SuperSport HNL this season, nor can they be relegated from the First League. They play their home matches at the stadium in Zaprešić. The team is conceived as a development step between junior and senior football, and the results in the First League will show how well the young players can cope with physically stronger and more experienced opponents.
