The third round of the First League in sand volleyball will take place in Zagreb, continuing the competition in which eight clubs participate in the men's and women's categories. Ahead of this important stage, the standings present a tight contest, particularly in the women's division where the leading teams are level on points.
The women's club Štinjan has delivered excellent results in the previous rounds in Pula and Split, amassing a total of 14 points. As a result, the team from Pula currently occupies second place in the standings, level on points with the leaders, Žnjan. Štinjan also holds a two-point advantage over title holders Siget, while the fourth-placed Ža is five points ahead.
In the men's category, the situation is slightly different. Club Pjeskaš Umag has six points after eight rounds and occupies fifth place on the table. On the other hand, men's Štinjan, which finished fourth in the women's category last season, currently has three points and is in seventh place in the men's league.
The competition is also characterised by reinforcements in the ranks of some teams, with three clubs in the league having signed quality Slovenian players. This regional reinforcement further raises the level of competition in the First League, promising exciting matches at the upcoming Zagreb tournament.
