Pitomača table tennis players opened their new season in the Table Tennis Region West League with a defeat. In the first three rounds of the competition, both the senior and cadet teams recorded three losses each, leaving the club without points at the start of the championship.

Seniors Filip Saraj, Pavel Domović and Mirko Debeljak competed in Bjelovar, where they lost to hosts Sokol 4:0. In the following rounds, Pitomača was defeated by Sisak II 4:2, and lost by the same score to Kutina III. Thus, the seniors finished all three of their matches in the opening rounds without a win.

The cadet team fared no better. Vida Sabađija, Vinko Petričušić and Mihael Cibolka failed to secure a victory at the tournament in Petrinja. Novska beat the cadets 5:0, while Petrinja I and Sisak II were superior 4:1. The cadets, like the seniors, therefore recorded three defeats in the first three rounds.

The Pitomača Table Tennis Club highlights that the start of the season was hampered by the absence of some players. Despite the poor start, the club believes results will improve in upcoming matches, when the teams will be fielding full squads.
