Torino defeated Monza 3-2 in the first match of the eighth round of Italian Serie A at the Olimpico Grande Torino stadium. The match was marked by Croatian international Nikola Vlašić, who led the home team as captain throughout the entire contest.

In the 72nd minute, with the score at 2-1, Vlašić received the ball on the edge of the penalty area, 14 metres from the opponent's goal, beat defender Carboni and struck under the crossbar to make it 3-1. It was his first goal of the season, capping a performance that was accompanied by high ratings from the media.

Eurosport rated Vlašić 7, while the Toro.it portal awarded him 7.5. Torino manager Ignazio Abate did not hide his satisfaction after the match, calling Vlašić 'our tactical gold' and emphasising that he is happy to have him in top form.

On the other side, Monza is managed by Ivan Jurić, whose tactics were rated 5.5 by the media. Jurić told Sky Sport that Torino absolutely deserved the win, thereby acknowledging the quality of their opponents in this match.

Torino thus recorded three important points in the eighth round, and Vlašić's form and captaincy add further weight to his performance in the domestic league.
