In the settlement of Podravski Sesveti, the 35th anniversary of the takeover of strategic outposts was marked on 11 September. The anniversary, taking place on the same day as the 1991 operation, served as a reminder of the key role played by participants in the Croatian War of Independence in defending the country's independence and territorial integrity.

The ceremony began with the laying of a wreath at the monument to fallen Croatian defenders. At the time, in addition to the usual ceremonies, candles were lit in honour of all fallen defenders, paying tribute to them. This tradition of remembering the victims of the homeland defence remains an integral part of marking important dates in wartime history.

Prominent guests, including General Ivan Pokaz and head of staff Marko Dežić, addressed the assembled crowd. In addition, representatives of veterans' associations and participants in the Homeland War, including Marijan Matoš, Vlado Jančić and Ivan Hrdalić, addressed the gathering. Their speeches highlighted the importance of preserving the memory of past events and the values for which they fought.

Special emphasis was placed on the continuous support for veterans' associations, which was a key message of the present officials, including the Župan of Koprivnica-Križevci County, Tomislav Golubić, who attended the ceremony. Golubić, in his address, stressed that preserving the memory of the Homeland War was essential for preserving the identity and values on which the modern Croatian state was founded.
