The Tourist Board of the Zadar County is participating in the 14th Mediterranean Taste festival. The event is taking place from 9 to 13 September in Mali Lošinj. The participation was achieved in collaboration, with the aim of promoting local flavours and heritage.

The key contribution was made by chef Marin Banović. He is a teacher of cookery at the secondary school in Biograd na Moru. Under his mentorship, the students prepared a complex dish. The workshop included the preparation of sea bass fillets stuffed with prawns. The dish was served with a lemon sauce, accompanied by a side dish of kale and chard.

Chef Banović participated in the opening ceremony of the festival. The event was held in the fish market in Mali Lošinj. During the event, participants had the opportunity to hear discussions. The theme covered the future of gastronomy and the education of young professionals. Emphasis was placed on the responsible use of local ingredients.

Participants received gifts during the event. These were packages of products from local producers. The range included products from the companies Solane Nin and Solane Pag. This move further highlighted the importance of local products for the region’s identity.

Such encounters highlight the importance of linking gastronomy, tourism, and education. A foundation is being created for the development of a sustainable and comprehensive tourism offer. Traditional values and local products are recognised as key development factors. Investment in education and the development of a skilled workforce represents the foundation for the future. This ensures that tradition and local values are passed on to the future. At the same time, this enriches the tourism offer with new content and experiences.
