Reader Ivan contacted the portal, outraged by the state of the bus station in Benkovac, attaching a photograph to substantiate his claims. "It is a disgrace for Benkovac! How many more years must the station wait for renovation," he stated, emphasising that his town does not deserve this.

The Benkovac resident notes that the station has stood neglected for years, with cracked walls and a worn-out facade, crying out for renovation. At the same time, he says, new buildings and apartments are being constructed in the town, with investment in new projects and talk of development. "City development is not just about new buildings and apartments. Development also means caring for existing infrastructure, public spaces, and facilities used daily by citizens," the reader declared.

He adds that no one is asking for luxury, but rather basic upkeep and a decent appearance for a place that should be a source of pride for all of Benkovac. "We cannot speak of progress while certain parts of the town give the impression of being forgotten," he stressed. He also asks: "Just look at the walls, the graffiti, and the overall state of the station. Is this the image we want to send to people coming to Benkovac? Is this what our citizens deserve?"

The reader believes that if new structures can be built, the question must also be asked why a solution for the station's renovation cannot be found. Citizens, he adds, deserve to know if there is a renovation plan, who is responsible for maintenance, and when concrete action will finally be taken. "Benkovac deserves more! It deserves well-kept public spaces, renovated buildings, and a town that takes care of every part of it," he declared.

"New buildings and apartments are important, but what about the station? How long will this space be left to decay?" the reader asks, concluding: "It is time to finally resolve this issue and for citizens to receive concrete answers."

The portal therefore called the Mayor of Benkovac, Tomislav Bulić. From the call at nine o'clock and several messages sent, the mayor did not respond. When asked if there would be a reply, he said there would be, but despite waiting for several hours, we did not receive one. If the mayor sends a response, we will publish it.
