The session of the Commission for Determining the Fate of Victims of Crimes Committed After the Second World War, scheduled for today at 10:00, will not take place due to a lack of quorum. The commission is chaired by Ivan Penava, who placed points on the agenda for the cancelled session regarding the urgent establishment of an institution to manage the memorial to the victims of communist crimes from the post-war period.

Penava is calling for funding for the establishment of this institution, as well as funds for the investigation of the mass grave in Tezno, to be secured in the budget for the following year. The Parliament is to decide on the budget in the next month and a half, which links his requests in time to the upcoming budget debate.

In the commission, alongside Penava, are state secretaries from the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, culture, and veterans' affairs. Members also include the head of the Prime Minister's Office, Zvonimir Frka Petešić, and two members from the Croatian State Archives and the Institute of History.

The question of the quorum lies in the hands of the senior coalition partner, and the question of whether the HDPE is deliberately obstructing today's session is also open. Penava is to hold a press conference at noon.
