A newly built Community Hall was opened in the Petrinja settlement of Slana, which will hold special significance for the social life of residents of Slana, Glinska Poljana and Vratečko.

The story of this hall began in 2010, and over the years the building was gradually constructed. The roof was completed in 2019, after which the City of Petrinja proceeded to the full completion and arrangement of the object with co-financing from the Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds through the regional development support programme. As part of the final works, an energy renovation was carried out, the roof damaged in the earthquake was partially repaired, and the interior spaces were arranged.

The total value of the works carried out is €22,667.69, while the Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds secured €41,000. With the completion of this project, residents of Slana, Glinska Poljana and Vratečko have gained an arranged and functional space for holding social, cultural, sports and other activities.

Marijan Radušević, President of the Council of the Local Council of Glinska Poljana-Slana-Vratečko, stated that this object represents far more than just buildings for their community. He emphasised that it is the realisation of their long-standing dream and the foundation for the further development of the settlement.

Petrinja Mayor and Sabor representative Magdalena Komes stated that she knows how great the desire was to finally finish this hall. She emphasised that they managed to allocate part of the funds for this area in difficult circumstances. She believes, she said, that more people will gather through song and dance, preserve tradition and friendship, and spread it to younger generations. She added that the goal is not only to rebuild the city and its streets, but that special attention is being paid to rural areas, and a children's playground has also been promised.

Mihael Jurić, Deputy President of the Sisak-Moslavina County Assembly, stated that 11 kilometres of roads have been built here since 2021, which is approximately €1.5 million. He said this refers to a county road and a newly built road through this area. He also emphasised that the mayor and the county president went to the ministry, to Croatian Waters, and lobbied for water that disappeared after the earthquake, because the wells and springs had dried up, and after a few years funds were found for the implementation of the water supply system.

The new hall was opened by Magdalena Komes, Mihael Jurić and Marijan Radušević by cutting the ribbon. The new hall was blessed by Monsignor Paško Glasnović, rector of the Shrine of Our Mother of Sorrows in Gora. Members of the Folk Ensemble "Petrinjčica" participated in the entertainment part of the programme, and the hosts finally awarded Certificates of Appreciation to those who contributed to the realisation of this project.
