HRT journalist Ivana Perić shared her personal story of adoption and the search for her biological family. She spoke about her experience in the podcast 'Po recepturi', with the excerpt published on social media.

Perić was born prematurely in Mostar, where her biological mother left her in the hospital. She was subsequently transferred to a children's home in Sarajevo, where she spent the first months of her life. At 13 months old, she was adopted by a family from Sisak. The journalist has stated several times that the people who adopted her are her true parents.

She began to meet her biological family almost 20 years ago, with the first meeting taking place thanks to a journalistic assignment that took her to Mostar. There, she first met one biological brother, and later another brother and a sister. The meeting with her biological father was particularly emotional, as he had believed for years that his daughter had died at birth. It was only after many years that he learned she was alive.

In the podcast, she explained that it was not difficult for her to speak publicly about such personal matters. She realised, as she said, that she had to confront her past to find inner peace. The entire experience had a positive effect on her health.

Perić recently shared her story of losing 50 kilograms. She started her weight loss journey at 118 kilograms, deciding to change her lifestyle primarily due to deteriorating health. She highlighted that she did not use medical therapy for weight loss. She lost the weight through a calorie deficit, walking, and perseverance, and recently shared the recipes that helped her in the process.
