The luxury mini-cruiser MS Almissa ran aground on a shoal in Velo Proversa, a busy maritime passage in the Zadar archipelago connecting Dugi Otok and Kornat island. The potentially dangerous situation was quickly brought under control, and the rescue tug Pollux immediately joined the operation.
The tug Pollux arrived at the stranded vessel in the shortest possible time and successfully pulled it to safety. The entire rescue operation lasted a very short time, and according to available information, no passengers or crew members were injured.
The MS Almissa is a modern and extremely popular motor sailing yacht built in 2017 at the Brodotrogir shipyard. The vessel was designed and commissioned by brothers Marko and Pave with the aim of providing a premium cruising experience in the Adriatic Sea. The ship is 40 metres long and 8 metres wide.
The vessel accommodates up to 40 passengers in 19 modern, air-conditioned cabins with private bathrooms, arranged on the upper and lower decks. It is one of the most recognisable vessels in the segment of small luxury cruises in the Adriatic.
Following the successful refloating and hull inspection, the MS Almissa is expected to continue its planned journey through the waters of the Zadar archipelago.
