Residents of the Orebić and Korčula areas warned about the lack of coordination between the Orebić – Korčula and Korčula – Split lines, stating that they had been left stranded. The confusion over departures on 1 November 2026 lasted for days.
Gv Zadar line had been selling tickets for a 12.20 departure on the Orebić – Korčula route for days, consistent with its usual Sunday schedule. However, a Gv Zadar line leaflet stated that on 1 November 2026, the service would operate on a Saturday schedule, departing at 5.20. After an islander made an urgent request, Gv Zadar line changed its ticket sales. The islander subsequently received an email from the Gv Zadar line director confirming that the agency had approved the departure and that it was scheduled for 5.20. The departure time was later updated on the website.
The Orebić – Korčula line is always linked to the departure or arrival of the catamaran. The Tp line catamaran on the Korčula – Split route was supposed to change its timetable to accommodate islanders and residents of Pelješac. According to data, Gv Line operates at 5.20 on the Orebić – Korčula route, while the Tp Line catamaran departs Korčula for Split at 13.00 on 1 November 2026.
The Agency for Coastal and Line Traffic (Agencija za obalni i linijski promet) states that throughout the year, neither the Agency nor the ferry operator received any complaint or request to change the approved timetable on the line. This remained the case until 30 October 2026, a Friday, when it was noticed that the note did not provide for travel on All Saints' Day according to the amended schedule. Due to the short notice period and the number of tickets the operator had already recorded in its sales system at that time, it was not possible to comply with the request to change the timetable.
Any change to the timetable requires a request to be sent to the competent local self-government unit. If the competent local self-government unit accepts the request, with the consent of other competent local self-government units and the ferry operator, the competent local self-government unit – the City of Split, the City of Hvar or the City of Korčula – submits the request to the Agency to change the line timetable.
The ferry operator has included an amended schedule for All Saints' Day in the 2027 timetable for the line, which should prevent a recurrence of this situation.
