The Vinkovci Public Fire Brigade and the Orašje County Civil Protection Authority have completed a joint cross-border cooperation project under the 2026 Programme for the Support of Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The project aimed to strengthen capacities for action in emergency situations.

The project was led by Commander Krešimir Jelić of the Vinkovci Public Fire Brigade and Director Ilija Jeziđić of the Orašje County Civil Protection Authority. The cooperation resulted in the procurement of modern equipment and vehicles for fire services in both regions.

The Vinkovci Public Fire Brigade acquired a firefighting drone for aerial reconnaissance, which facilitates the location of fire sites and the search of inaccessible terrain. The unit also received a battery generator to ensure power supply during prolonged interventions, modern protective equipment for firefighters, and handheld radios to improve communication among teams in the field.

On the other side, the Orašje County Civil Protection Authority procured a new, modern attack fire engine. The project enabled the acquisition of equipment that will facilitate and accelerate responses in cases of fires and other natural disasters.

This project represents an important step in strengthening the capacities of fire services in the cross-border area, which can contribute to a more effective response to emergency situations.
