Tajana Vdović, from Krapina, arrived in Vukovar by bicycle, concluding her four-day journey dedicated to paying tribute to all victims of the Homeland War. She covered 350 kilometres solo in four days, setting out from her hometown of Krapina on Wednesday.

On the first day, she cycled from Krapina via Marija Bistrica to Dugo Selo. On the second day, she continued via Popovača and Novska to Okučani, where she stopped at the “Crystalline Cubes of Serenity” memorial during her stay to honour the fallen Croatian defenders. The third stage took her through Nova Gradiška and Sibinj to Slavonski Brod, and on the final day, she reached her destination – Vukovar – via Vinkovci and Nuštar.

As she described during the trip, it was a special journey of peace for her, filled with moments spent alone with her thoughts, nature and feelings. Each kilometre covered thus carried a personal message of gratitude and remembrance, alongside the physical challenge.

Tajana Vdović has many cycling kilometres behind her, as well as caravans, running, walking and mountaineering. As a lover of nature and her homeland, she also participated in cycling for brave female defenders, together with friends and members of the Sisačko-Moslavačka County Marathoners Association “Heroes Do Not Die”.

Upon arriving in Vukovar, she completed her four-day journey, dedicated to those who wove their lives into the freedom of Croatia.
