Firefighters intervened on two occasions in the Orašje area over the past week. The first incident occurred on 9 September, involving members of the DVD of Donji Kraljevec and the DVD of Orašje. Operations began after the operators of the Donji Kraljevec volunteer fire brigade received a report of a fire in the forest near their locality. The team, consisting of two vehicles and seven firefighters, responded to the scene. Due to the inaccessible terrain, vehicles from the Orašje volunteer fire brigade were required to join the operation, providing additional support for extinguishing the fire.
Following the successful containment of the fire, firefighters determined that the incident was caused by specific conditions, involving a fire in the forest and scrubland. This was not an act of arson, but rather an accidental fire that required professional intervention to prevent the spread of the flames to larger areas.
After the fire was resolved, the firefighters returned to Orašva, where they attended to a second incident. At the local sports hall, they carried out a water extraction operation. The sports facility had been damaged by a leak in the roof, which caused rainwater to enter the building. The firefighters ensured that the damage was minimised and assisted in removing the accumulated water so that the premises could be returned to use as soon as possible.
Both incidents, the fire and the incident at the sports facility, were handled with expertise and a prompt response by the firefighters, which contributed to minimising the damage. These operations highlight the importance of readiness and coordination among fire brigades, particularly in situations requiring a quick and effective response in the field.
