Firefighters intervened to prevent the fire from spreading to the wider area, thereby preventing significant material damage. The incident occurred on Thursday evening, with fire services responding quickly to quell the flames and protect the surrounding area.
According to available information, the fire broke out near the road, specifically west of the settlement of Draga, directed towards the settlement of Ninčević in the zone of Srednja Strana. The fire engulfed vegetation located beneath the road, creating a risk of the fire spreading to a wider area.
A total of 90 firefighters intervened at the scene, using thirty fire engines. This deployment of a large number of members of the fire community and equipment was necessary for effective extinguishing and preventing the spread of fire, particularly under conditions where the terrain is difficult or where there is a risk of the fire spreading to other structures or vegetation.
Although firefighters managed to control the situation, the local community and authorities continue to monitor the situation to ensure that the fire does not break out again or cause other consequences. This incident has once again raised questions about safety in mountainous and semi-mountainous areas, where conditions are often unpredictable and require additional caution.
