The fire broke out in the hinterland of Trogir, specifically in the settlement of Prapatnica, shortly before 18:00. At the centre of the incident is the Adriatic-Bižnina municipal waste landfill located in Labin Dalmatić, where large quantities of smoke and fire were recorded.
Fire teams from the Trogir and Kašt operational areas were deployed immediately. The forces mobilised quickly to control the spread of the fire and prevent it from spreading to the surrounding settlement and woodland.
Two aircraft were included in the operation, indicating the seriousness of the situation and the need for air support. The air units are assisting in localising the fire, particularly in hard-to-reach parts of the landfill.
Firefighters are continuing with intensive firefighting efforts to bring the fire under control as soon as possible. The public is urged to avoid the surrounding areas for safety reasons and to avoid disrupting operational activities.
