Firefighters from the Domoji Volunteer Fire Department intervened in a fire at a building in Vrhovac Sokolski. The alarm was received at 7:24, and the alert was sent via the UVI application. The first to arrive on the scene were firefighters from the Domoji Volunteer Fire Department, who went to the scene with a pumper and a utility vehicle, consisting of six firefighters.

Assistance was provided by a team from the Javna vatrogasna postaja (Public Fire Station) in Koprivnica. Together, they managed to extinguish the fire that had engulfed a coal storage area within the building. It was confirmed that only the coal was burning, and no injuries were reported.

The operation officially concluded at 9:07. The firefighters left the scene after extinguishing the fire, and the damage was not detailed further in the statement. The presence of the Koprivnica public fire station personnel ensured the successful conclusion of the operation.

Following the intervention, the firefighters from the Domoji Volunteer Fire Department issued a public appeal. They urged extreme caution due to the current high temperatures, emphasising that open fires should not be lit in open spaces.

Special attention is advised to be paid to protecting one’s own property and the surrounding environment. The aim of the warning is to prevent the occurrence of new fires that could endanger property and human health in this period of heightened fire risk.
