The incident was reported at approximately 21:53, a fact confirmed by the Međimurje Police. Officers arrived on the scene immediately to prevent the flames from spreading to surrounding structures.
Three fire brigades were involved in extinguishing the blaze. Firefighters from the Fire Department of the City of Čakovec, the Ivanovec Volunteer Fire Department, and the DVD of Gornji Vidovec, working together, managed to extinguish the fire. The respective brigades operated in a coordinated manner to minimise the impact on the local community.
According to information available so far, no one was injured in the incident. Fortunately, no one was harmed or sustained injuries during the intervention or during the initial outbreak of the fire. Residents of nearby houses were not at risk, and the situation was brought under control after the fire was extinguished.
The fire, however, caused significant damage to the property itself. The house sustained serious damage, indicating the intensity of the fire in its early stages. The assessment of the damage will be conducted subsequently, although it is already clear that the building has been severely damaged.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown. Police and firefighters are conducting an inspection to establish the precise circumstances of the fire's origin. Official findings and expert assessments are yet to follow, and the public will be informed of further developments as they become available.
