Members of the 'Smrk' Mushroom Society, from Čakovec, have traditionally set up their stall at the Autumn Fair. Visitors were able to view the displayed mushrooms, learn various details about them, and enjoy mushroom stew prepared by the society's members.
In addition to the exhibition, the society's members, Josip Perčić and Ivan Marđetko, highlighted that they had opened an educational trail. This allowed visitors to gain insight into the broader context of mushroom foraging, rather than just their appearance.
The society's members stated that they educate all interested parties, providing detailed explanations of mushrooms to anyone who asks. Their approach focused on direct conversation with visitors and the sharing of practical knowledge.
The mushroom stew, with its rich aroma in the morning hours, drew a steady stream of visitors to the stall. The chefs revealed that approximately 400 portions had been prepared, further confirming the public's interest in the event.
The mushroom exhibition and the prepared stew attracted numerous visitors to the Autumn Fair, with the 'Smrk' Society members once again confirming their traditional presence on the square.
