Sin has recorded the fifth highest growth in employment among Croatian cities, in both absolute and relative terms, in 2025. This was shown by an analysis of data from the Croatian Bureau of Statistics published by the Gradonačelnik portal, which was reported on by the City of Sin.
The number of employees in Sin increased by 4,329 last year, representing a 115.13 per cent increase compared to the previous year. Only Velika Gorica, Samobor, Kaštela, and Zaprešić recorded a higher absolute increase.
Employment grew in 96 out of 128 Croatian cities, where 14,075 more people were employed compared to the previous year. In Croatian cities, more than 1.1 million people are in work.
At the state level, there were approximately 1.7 million people in employment in 2025. The employment rate rose to 68.8 per cent, while unemployment fell to 4.9 per cent, one of the lowest levels in recent decades. Employers are finding it increasingly difficult to recruit workers, with over 170,000 residence and work permits issued last year, primarily in the construction, tourism, manufacturing, and transport sectors.
The strengthening of the local labour market is confirmed by data from the Croatian Employment Service: the number of unemployed people in Sin decreased by 655 over four years, or by more than 40 per cent.
The City of Sin attributes the growth to an increase in the number of entrepreneurs and self-employed individuals, as well as investments in business zones and infrastructure. According to data from the Croatian Chamber, the largest share of registered economic entities in the area is in construction, with growth in trade, services, and manufacturing.
