Sinj mayor Miro Bulj has called on councillors to support the budget rebalance. Speaking as a guest on Hit radio, he emphasised that the measure secures funding for new kindergarten places, the employment of staff and the operations of sports clubs.
According to Bulj, failing to accept the rebalance directly jeopardises the opening of places for approximately 150 children, the hiring of educators and support staff, and the work of sports clubs in Sinj. He stressed that funds are needed to create the conditions for opening new groups in Ferati, Glavice and Bajagić. To commence the work of these groups, he explained, it is necessary to secure equipment, carry out the required organisational procedures and employ educators and support staff.
Bulj also announced the issuance of a public call for employment and calls for child enrolment, reminding listeners that around 150 children are waiting for a place. He highlighted that funds are secured in the city treasury but need to be approved through the budget rebalance.
In addition to kindergartens, sports clubs were also a topic of the broadcast. A large number of clubs operate in Sinj, and their activities include younger age groups, training, competitions and travel. Bulj warned about rising transport costs, which make it difficult for clubs to organise competitions and facilitate the participation of young athletes. Without support for the rebalance, he stated, Alkar, Junak and another 50 sports collectives in the city would be put at risk.
The rebalance proposal did not receive the necessary support at the previous session of the City Council. Consequently, Bulj called on the vice-president of the City Council to convene a new session within 15 days to debate the rebalance again.
