The city of Sinj is distributing an alkaria of 50 euros this year, ten euros more than last year, with those eligible for the benefit including pensioners with a pension of up to 450 euros. The decision on the distribution of alkarina for 2026 was made by the mayor, Miro Bulj.

The support is intended for pensioners, parent caregivers, and caregivers, as well as for recipients of the national allowance, people over the age of 65 without income, and the unemployed. The condition is residence in the area of the City of Sinj, and the alkarina can only be claimed once based on one criterion.

The amount of support has increased from 40 to 50 euros, which is an increase of 25 per cent. At the same time, the threshold for pensioners has been raised from 350 to 450 euros, so a wider range of beneficiaries will be eligible for payment than in previous years.

The city authorities state that the measure is intended to help citizens living on the lowest incomes, particularly pensioners facing rising living costs, and to preserve the alkarina as a traditional form of support.
