The Šenkovec municipality is preparing Christmas bonuses of 60 euros for pensioners with pensions up to 720 euros, while the Selnica municipality is securing Christmas vouchers for pensioners whose pension or combined pensions do not exceed 600 euros.
In Šenkovec, the right to receive the Christmas bonus applies to pensioners from the municipality whose pension does not exceed 720 euros. If they also receive a foreign pension, the sum of the Croatian and foreign pension must also not be greater than 720 euros. An extract of the pension amount for October must be attached to the application. Other groups of residents are also entitled to the Christmas bonus: persons over 65 years old who do not receive a pension and have no cash income, beneficiaries of the Čakovec Centre for Social Care, persons with a disability greater than 70 per cent, and cancer patients undergoing active oncological treatment. For persons over 65 years old who do not receive a pension, a confirmation from the Tax Administration is required, while beneficiaries who qualify due to their health status must attach a medical certificate or documentation from 2026. Along with proof of entitlement, the OIB (personal identification number) and the IBAN number of a current account must be submitted.
Applications for the Christmas bonus in Šenkovec are accepted until 1 December 2026. They can be submitted in the mailbox at the Šenkovec municipality building or sent by email to [email protected]. Payment will be made during December, after the processing of received applications. Residents who have outstanding due debts to the Šenkovec municipality will not receive the Christmas bonus.
In Selnica, applications for Christmas vouchers are accepted until 30 November, and documentation is collected from 9 to 30 November 2026. To qualify, it is necessary to fill in the application form and attach the latest pension slip. Documentation can be sent exclusively by email to [email protected] or left in the grey box at the municipal office. The Selnica municipality notes that they will not accept late applications.
Christmas vouchers in Selnica will be distributed on 10 and 11 December, from 9 to 12 o'clock. Pensioners can collect them at the premises of the Pensioners' Association at Trg sv.
