The Split Commercial Court has ruled on the opening of bankruptcy proceedings against the company Autoprijevoz Sinj due to unpaid obligations to creditors. According to the Fine report, the company has outstanding payment bases in a continuous period of 120 days with a total amount of 28,700.46 euros.
The mayor of Sinj, Miro Bulj, stated that residents need not fear, as several transport operators operate in the city. Bulj has long criticised the privatisation of Autoprijevoz Sinj and the management of Mak, particularly the company's owner, Mat Jujnović. He accused them of poor maintenance of buses and unsafe transport of passengers, especially children. Jujnović had previously sued Bulj for damage to reputation, honour and dignity.
Autoprijevoz Sin had previously engaged in lengthy legal proceedings regarding claims against the city of Sin. Bulj stated that Jujnović was an absolute monopolist who was making large sums of money from the city of Sin for transport. He also stated that Jujnović's buses were falling into disrepair due to faulty brakes. According to Bulj, Jujnović should have invested the then 15 million kuna and purchased new buses within three years, but did not, and the company was destroyed because the profit was transferred to Promet Mak.
Bulj stated that at the time of signing the contract, Jujnović was required to deposit 17.9 million kuna in the state treasury as a guarantee that the contract would be honoured, but this was not done. He is now demanding that the funds be returned to the treasury. He added that Jujnović had the support of all levels of government, as he could not have done it alone, stating that the company was an example of criminal privatisation in Croatia.
Regarding the vehicle fleet, 43 buses are listed with a value of 0. The buses are mostly over 40 years old, with the oldest dating from 1977. The company has been in trouble for some time, with the actual transport of passengers and employees transferred to the sister company Promet Sin d.o.o. Mate Jujnović did not wish to comment on the opening of bankruptcy proceedings against Autoprijevoz Sin.
