The 15th Medieval Fair concluded ceremoniously in Slatinski Drenovac, reaching its peak on 9 August 2026. This traditional cultural event gathered numerous visitors who enjoyed a rich programme filled with historical reconstructions and artistic performances across various genres.
The programme was characterised by dynamic interaction with children, with special attention drawn to the performance of the Cirkultura circus association from Samobor. Their acts featuring two court jesters succeeded in engaging the young audience, creating a cheerful atmosphere that was an integral part of the fair experience.
Emphasis on historical reconstruction was provided by the Knights of Ružica Castle, who not only trained children in knightly skills but also defeated three enemy knights in a simulated battle. Alongside them, the Slovak historical group Agentúra Hector from Trnava impressed the audience with displays of medieval cavalry battles and games, bringing an authentic Central European ambience.
The cultural programme was completed by dance performances. The Lampade dance group performed spectacular sword belly dances, while the historical group Kontea from Konjščina presented traditional historical dances, ensuring a diversity of cultural expression throughout the duration of the fair.
The event culminated in a concluding play that thematised historical conflicts in the area. In a dramatic finale, Christian Croats expelled the Turks from Slatinski Drenovac, closing the cycle of fair activities with a powerful symbolic message.
