The scent of homemade spirits, combined with good music and lively company, filled the large tent outside the school sports hall in Kalinovac, where the 17th International Exhibition of Spirits, Spirit-based Preparations, and Vinegar was held. The exhibition, held as part of the Lukovo event in Kalinovce and the celebration of the Municipality Day, was organised by the local agricultural association.
The title of champion at the exhibition went to a plum brandy produced by Drago Ćurić from Proklje. Proklje is a settlement within the municipality of Bjelovar, and Dr Ćurić’s plum brandy was judged the best among all the submitted samples.
Samples were received from across Croatia and neighbouring countries, bringing an international character to the exhibition. The gathering of producers and enthusiasts of local spirits confirmed, once again, the tradition of cultivating this sector of agricultural production.
In addition to the competitive aspect, the event provided an opportunity for socialising over music and tasting, with the large tent filled with visitors. The local agricultural association rounded off the latest edition of the exhibition, which is held as part of the Lukovo event in Kalinovac and the celebration of the municipality’s day.
