In the community hall in Novo Selo Rok, the autumn gathering with cakes, creative workshops, and a programme for all generations began at 15:00. The autumn festival in Novom Selo is currently taking place, organised by the Association of Novo Selo with the financial support of the City of Čakovec.
One of the central events was the competition for the best cake. All submitted cakes were tasted and assessed by Slađana Zdravec. The first place was won by Dušanka Kolar, the second place by Anita Furdi, and the third place by Lucija Levačić. The organizers described the competition as an opportunity to win the title of 'Sweet Master of Cakes'.
Visitors are offered a display of autumn fruit cakes, with refreshments and hot drinks, as well as a presentation of local products and handicrafts. Within the creative section, a workshop on making objects and ornaments from reed, led by Ana Grabar from Sljeme, is taking place.
In the entertainment segment, the Stonoga kindergarten, the local school in Novom Selo, the KUD Žiškovec, and the Leonardo and Lucian Reich ensemble are participating. The youngest children are offered games, rounding off the programme with content for all ages.
