Nikola Pintarić from Osijek has secured third place in the sixth edition of the 'Male vinkovačke jeseni' (Little Vinkovci Autumn) literary competition. The competition was organised by the Vinkovci Library and Reading Room, with submissions open from 2 March to 15 June. This literary event brought together students from across Croatia, who competed in two categories: for older primary school pupils (years 5 to 8) and for secondary school students (years 1 to 4). The theme for this year was 'homeland'.
In the older primary school category, first place went to Eva Zorić from Draganić with her work 'Opšikajac'. Second place was taken by Patricia Matić, also from Draganić, with her work 'Mitulj'. Third place in this category was taken by Patrik Mladinić from Čazma with his work 'Homeland is not a place'.
In the secondary school category, first place was taken by Patrik Rukvanin from Zadar with his work 'Tud san pasa' (I don't know). Second place went to Gabrijel Kundrat from Sisak with his work 'Homeland where you have never lived'. Third place in this category was taken by Nikola Pintarić from Osijek with his work 'The light that never dies'.
All awarded students have won a two-day stay in Vinkovci during the 'Dječja vinkovačka jesen' (Children's Vinkovci Autumn) event. This event will take place on 12 and 13 September 2026.
