The fourteenth edition of the competitive gastronomic event, Bibinjski kogo, was held in Bibinje. The event is traditionally held on the Talina Promenade, where lovers of local culinary heritage gathered and prepared traditional dishes in front of the public.
The main challenge of the competition was the preparation of Bibinje manestra, a dish that represents an important part of local tradition. Participants had to strive to prepare authentic black rolled manestra with cuttlefish, using cauldrons over an open fire, which required skill and patience.
The programme began at 20 o'clock with the ceremonial introduction of all participants. A total of 15 teams took part in the competition, each ready to showcase their culinary skills in front of the assembled public and the expert jury.
A three-member expert jury decided on the winners, carefully assessing the prepared dishes. The assessment criteria were strict and included taste, texture, appearance, and, most importantly, the authenticity of the traditional recipe.
After a detailed evaluation, first place and victory in the competition were won by Planinarsko društvo Babulj (Babulj Mountaineering Society). Their preparation of manestra proved the most successful according to the jury's criteria.
Second place went to the team Žedno, which also demonstrated a high level of preparation. Third place was taken by the team Staro polje, with all three awarded teams confirming the high level of gastronomic tradition in Bibinje.
